About Me
I am currently a first grade teacher. I have taught 31 years with the Houston Independent School District; 18 years in special education, 2 years in second grade, and 11 years in first grade. Teaching is more than a profession. It's a lifestyle - a part of my existence. First grade has been an enjoyable experience for me. This grade is the foundation for success in the later grades, a time to strengthen their knowledge and enhance their skills. I hope this year will be fun and exciting and that they will develop a love for learning. One of my favorite quotes is on an Esseence of Teaching plaque, "What nobler profession than to touch the next generation - to see children hold your understanding in their eyes, your hope in their lives, your world in their hands. In their success you find your own and so to them you give your all."
